Description

This delightful Banana Sushi recipe transforms simple bananas into a fun and healthy treat by topping them with melted dark chocolate, nut butter, and various crunchy toppings like sprinkles, chia seeds, shredded coconut, and rice krispies. Perfect as a quick snack or a kid-friendly dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Topping

  • 1 banana
  • 2 squares dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp sprinkles or 0.5 tbsp chia seeds

Coconut Topping

  • 1 banana
  • 1.5 tbsp nut butter
  • 1.5 tbsp shredded coconut

Rice Krispies Topping

  • 1 banana
  • 1.5 tbsp nut butter
  • 3 tbsp rice krispies

Instructions

  1. Prepare Bananas: Peel the bananas and place them on a plate or cutting board to get ready for toppings and coating.
  2. Chocolate Coating: Melt the dark chocolate squares gently until smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the bananas evenly, then sprinkle either sprinkles or chia seeds on top. Place the bananas in the fridge until the chocolate sets completely.
  3. Nut Butter and Coconut Coating: Spread nut butter thickly over the peeled bananas. Then, roll or sprinkle the shredded coconut so it sticks onto the nut butter coating.
  4. Nut Butter and Rice Krispies Coating: Similarly, spread nut butter over the peeled bananas and roll them in rice krispies to create a crunchy outer layer.
  5. Serve: Once all toppings have set or adhered well, serve the banana sushi immediately for a fresh, tasty snack.

Notes

  • You can substitute dark chocolate with milk or white chocolate as preferred.
  • Use any nut butter like almond, peanut, or cashew depending on taste or dietary needs.
  • To speed up setting of chocolate, place covered banana sushi in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
  • This recipe is great for kids’ lunchboxes or quick healthy snacks.
  • Feel free to experiment with other toppings such as crushed nuts or seeds.
