Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast, shredded or chopped
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup Alfredo sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Dough & Cooking
- 1 batch pizza dough (enough to roll out to approximately 12×8 inches)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking chicken and sealing rolls)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for brushing tops)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (optional, for butter brushing)
Instructions
- Season and Sear Chicken: Season the cooked chicken breast generously with Cajun seasoning. Pan-sear the chicken in olive oil over medium heat until it develops a slight char and locks in flavor. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare Filling: Chop or shred the blackened chicken finely. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken with Alfredo sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese until all ingredients are well coated and the mixture is cheesy.
- Roll Out Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the pizza dough into a large rectangle approximately 12 by 8 inches and about 1/4 inch thick to ensure even baking and easier rolling.
- Assemble Rolls: Spread the Cajun chicken Alfredo mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape, pinch the edges to seal, then slice into 1 to 2-inch thick rolls.
- Bake Rolls: Place the rolls cut side up on a greased baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with melted butter mixed with minced garlic for extra flavor. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 18-22 minutes until the rolls are golden brown and crispy on top.
Notes
- Ensure the chicken is cooked through before seasoning and searing.
- For spicier rolls, add extra Cajun seasoning or a dash of cayenne pepper.
- If Alfredo sauce is too thick, warm slightly to make spreading easier.
- Use fresh garlic in butter brushing for enhanced flavor, but omit if sensitive to garlic.
- Let rolls cool a few minutes after baking to help them hold their shape when serving.
- These can be reheated in the oven to restore crispiness.
