Main Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (with icing)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter
For Serving (Optional)
- Powdered sugar
- Maple syrup or icing from the cinnamon rolls
Instructions
- Preheat Griddle or Skillet: Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat to ensure even cooking of the cinnamon roll bites.
- Prepare Cinnamon Rolls: Open the can of refrigerated cinnamon rolls and carefully separate them. Cut each cinnamon roll into 4 bite-sized pieces for easy dipping and cooking.
- Make Egg Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until fully combined to create the egg wash for dipping.
- Melt Butter: Add butter to the heated griddle or skillet and allow it to melt completely, coating the cooking surface.
- Dip Bites: Dip each cinnamon roll bite into the egg mixture, fully coating each piece to absorb the flavors before placing on the hot skillet.
- Cook Bites: Cook the bites for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and slightly crispy on the outside.
- Remove and Set Aside: Remove the cooked bites from the skillet and place them on a plate to cool slightly.
- Serve: Drizzle the bites with the icing from the cinnamon rolls or maple syrup. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
Notes
- Use refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing for the best flavor and ease.
- Adjust cooking time slightly depending on the size of bites and stove heat.
- Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and butter with plant-based alternatives.
- Adding a pinch of salt to the egg mixture can balance the sweetness.
