Ingredients
Scale
Horchata Milk Base
- 1 cup rice milk (or your preferred milk)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (plus extra for garnish)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk (or regular sugar to taste)
Coffee
- 1 shot of espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
Optional Ingredients
- 1/4 cup ice (for iced option)
- Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Make the Horchata Milk: In a small saucepan, combine the rice milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Warm the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it’s heated through but not boiling. Add sweetened condensed milk to taste, and stir to combine.
- Brew Your Coffee: Brew a shot of espresso or prepare 1/2 cup of strong coffee, depending on your preference.
- Combine the Horchata and Coffee: Once the horchata milk mixture is heated, pour it into your favorite cup. Add the brewed espresso or strong coffee to the cup and stir gently to combine.
- Serve Hot or Iced: For a hot latte, serve immediately and garnish with a dash of cinnamon on top. For an iced version, add ice to a glass, pour the horchata latte mixture over the ice, and stir well.
- Optional Toppings: If desired, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for an extra indulgent treat.
Notes
- You can substitute rice milk with any plant-based or dairy milk of your choice.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sweetened condensed milk or sugar according to your preference.
- For a stronger cinnamon flavor, sprinkle extra cinnamon on top as garnish.
- Using espresso gives a more concentrated coffee flavor, but strong brewed coffee works well as an alternative.
- The latte can be enjoyed hot or iced depending on your mood or weather.
