Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Seasoning and Sauce
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth (or water)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Garnish
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Crock Pot: Lightly grease the inside of your crock pot to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Add Chicken to Crock Pot: Place the 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts evenly in the crock pot in a single layer.
- Mix Seasonings and Sauce: In a medium bowl, combine the ranch seasoning mix, onion soup mix, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and garlic powder if using. Stir well until fully blended.
- Pour Sauce Over Chicken: Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, making sure they are fully coated with the sauce.
- Cook Slowly: Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- Check Seasoning: About 30 minutes before serving, taste the gravy and add salt and pepper as needed to suit your preference.
- Serve and Garnish: Carefully remove the chicken breasts and plate them. Spoon the creamy gravy over the chicken and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot alongside your favorite sides.
Notes
- For a thicker gravy, remove the chicken once cooked and turn the crock pot to high, cooking uncovered for 15-30 minutes until sauce thickens.
- You can use water instead of chicken broth but broth adds better flavor.
- Optional garlic powder enhances the depth of flavor but can be omitted if preferred.
- This recipe is great for meal prep and leftovers reheat well.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles to soak up the delicious gravy.
