Ingredients
Scale
Cereal
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Marshmallow Mixture
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cups mini marshmallows, divided
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- 7.5 ounce container of Marshmallow Fluff
Instructions
- Prep the Pan: Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal. Grease the parchment paper lightly with nonstick spray and set the pan aside.
- Mix Rice Krispies: Place all 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal into a large mixing bowl to prepare for the marshmallow mixture.
- Prepare Peanut Butter Marshmallow Mixture: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add 4 cups of the mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth. Remove the pan from heat and quickly stir in 1 cup of creamy peanut butter and a pinch of salt if using.
- Combine Mixture: Pour the warm peanut butter and marshmallow mixture over the Rice Krispies cereal in the large bowl. Add the remaining 2 cups of mini marshmallows and the entire 7.5 ounce container of Marshmallow Fluff. Gently stir everything together until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Set: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Using a spatula or your greased hands, press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan to create an even layer. Allow the treats to set undisturbed at room temperature for 15 minutes.
- Slice and Serve: Once set, lift the treats out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into 12 equal bars. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- For easier removal, use parchment paper with enough overhang.
- Press the mixture firmly into the pan to help the treats hold their shape.
- Mini marshmallows can be substituted with regular marshmallows cut into smaller pieces.
- Add a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness if desired.
- Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
