Description

This recipe features fresh oysters grilled to perfection with a flavorful Parmesan garlic butter topping. The combination of melted butter, garlic, and Parmesan cheese creates a rich, savory crust on the oysters, enhanced by fresh parsley and a splash of lemon juice. Perfect as an elegant appetizer or a special seafood treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Oysters

  • 12 fresh oysters, shucked

Garlic Parmesan Butter

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Serving

  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the oysters.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Prepare Oysters on Grill: Place the shucked oysters on the grill with the shell side down to keep them stable during cooking.
  4. Add Topping: Spoon a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture over each oyster evenly.
  5. Grill Oysters: Close the grill lid and cook the oysters for 5–7 minutes until the butter mixture is bubbly and the Parmesan cheese turns golden brown.
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the oysters from the grill. Optionally garnish with extra parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Use fresh, live oysters for the best flavor and safety.
  • Make sure the grill is properly preheated to ensure even cooking.
  • Handle oysters with care when removing from grill to avoid burns.
  • Adjust garlic quantity to your taste preference for milder or stronger flavor.
  • These oysters are best enjoyed immediately after grilling for optimal texture and taste.
