Description

Delightfully tangy and creamy Lemon Cheesecake Crescent Rolls combine flaky crescent roll dough with a smooth lemon cream cheese filling, topped with a sweet lemon glaze. Perfect as a quick and easy dessert or a bright breakfast treat, these rolls bake to golden perfection and offer a refreshing citrus twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Crescent Rolls

  • 1 package (8 count) refrigerated crescent rolls

Cheesecake Filling

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, cold
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon

Lemon Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Zest of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cheesecake Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cold cream cheese, granulated sugar, lemon extract, and the zest of half a lemon. Beat the mixture on medium-high speed until it is smooth and creamy, ensuring there are no lumps for a silky filling.
  2. Fill & Shape Rolls: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough onto a clean, flat surface. Spoon an even amount of the prepared cheesecake filling onto the wider end of each triangular dough piece. Carefully roll the dough starting from the wide end, tucking in the corners as you go to form crescent shapes.
  3. Bake: Arrange the filled crescent rolls on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12 to 14 minutes or until they turn a beautiful golden brown color.
  4. Cool: Remove the crescent rolls from the oven and transfer them to a wire rack. Allow them to cool completely to room temperature before applying the glaze to ensure the glaze sets nicely.
  5. Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, fresh lemon juice, and the zest of half a lemon. Stir until the glaze is smooth and has a pourable consistency.
  6. Glaze the Rolls: Drizzle the prepared lemon glaze evenly over the cooled crescent rolls. Let the glaze set for a few minutes before serving to enhance the flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • For best results, use cold cream cheese to make a smooth filling.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice in the glaze to achieve your preferred sweetness and tanginess.
  • These rolls can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat briefly in a warm oven or microwave before serving to enjoy them fresh.
